Coming this August…

Welcome to the Victorian travelling museum, telling the story of the unique seaside history of the growth of Tendring resorts. The exhibition will be inside a beautifully decorated Victorian style side show wagon and will feature visual and audio displays, interactive props and activities, oral histories and individual displays for Walton, Clacton, Jaywick, Holland-on-Sea, Frinton and Harwich. All brought to life and animated by performers from the Grand Theatre of Lemmings as part of the Resorting to the Coast community project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Essex County Council.

The Lemmings and their talented team of artists, creatives and researchers have spent several months researching the seaside history of the coastal towns and tailored every day of the tour with stories specifically relating to each town they visit. This is a very special tour and has never been done before in Tendring.  Local volunteers have been trained in circus skills and will be taking part on various days so this is a real community event.
