In 2018 and 2019 Resorting to the Coast teamed up with Mercury Theatre Colchester to deliver our schools programme with local primary schools across the Tendring district in Essex.

Creative practitioners used different art forms to explore the local Tendring seaside heritage with young students for 12 sessions over 3 months. We love the results! The students performed their work recently at the Columbine Centre in Walton-on-the-Naze and for many it was their first time on a professional stage. They were absolutely brilliant and great fun to watch.

Parents queued up around the building outside to wait for the doors to open and see their children perform. It was an early summer’s day and the sun was shining, expectations were high and the audience was not disappointed!

Free activity resource:

A new activity resource for students is available as a free download in the documents link below. It brings to life the seaside heritage across Tendring seaside resorts for Years 4 & 5. There is also a resource box which can be booked from Clacton Museum for teachers to use in class.  (The resource box can be booked via ghwhisper@live.co.uk)
