An easy 1.5 mile stroll around the history and heritage of Clacton-on-Sea. Let your imagination take you back to a time when the town enticed hundreds of thousands of tourists every year with the promise of ‘Champagne air’ and offered holidaymakers, ‘the English Riviera’.

Our trail will guide you round parts of the town and the seafront promenade, taking in the Pier and the old seaside entertainment venues, some of which are still open today, including Clacton’s famous West Cliff Theatre, which has the longest running summer entertainment show in the U.K.
