It’s time to celebrate the heyday of the Essex Sunshine Coast, from Harwich and Dovercourt to Walton, Frinton, Jaywick Sands and Clacton, at our project’s grand finale – a free, family-friendly ‘Seaside Revival Day’ at Clacton on Sea.
This fun-packed retro fun-day will take over Clacton’s West Greensward on Sunday 26 May from 10.00am to 5pm and promises ‘a bucket load of good old-fashioned fun’ for all those looking to relive the great British seaside experience.
A packed performance programme designed to appeal to everyone from 2 to 102, features music, dance, theatre and comedy with Britain’s only professional singing Pierrot troupe, The New Follies, cockney singalongs, escapologists and seaside spectaculars from Princes Theatre Youth Group, West Cliff Theatre Youth Group and Clacton’s Mad About Theatre Company.
Enjoy free entertainment at the retro fayre with storytelling, swing boats and cork shooters! The Marvellous Museum of Coastal Curiosities presents a treasure trove of Clacton’s secret seaside novelties from the past. Plus, there’ll be free workshops for kids to discover clowning, crafts and puppetry as well as the essential Punch and Judy shows!
Float back in time with a ride on the Viking Saga pleasure boat; or re-kindle more memories at the Heritage Discovery Tent with local history ‘taster’ talks over a cuppa.
